Melissa and I are pleased and proud to announce that E. & J. Gallo Winery, the world’s largest family-owned winery, has made a minority investment in WineShop At Home. The resulting alliance offers us unprecedented access to high-quality wines from a broad variety of Gallo premium brands from premier appellations and varietals throughout the world.
In addition to owning nearly 20,000 acres of vineyards across the state of California and possessing a portfolio of more than 60 brands, E. & J. Gallo Winery is the largest exporter of California wines, as well as a leading importer of wines from throughout the world including Argentina, Australia, New Zealand, Italy, France, Spain, Germany, and South Africa. The Company’s wines have earned major awards from prestigious international wine competitions in Italy, England, Japan, Germany and the United States.
Perhaps, most important of all is the opportunity to be aligned with and learn from one of the great founding families of wine and to have the opportunity to leverage Gallo’s extensive knowledge and experience in grape growing, winemaking, and marketing. We have never been so excited about the future! Although Melissa and I continue to be the majority shareholders in WineShop At Home, we believe this investment in our business will help to propel it forward in ways we can only imagine.
